Hello hello!

Welcome to the second edition of Visibly Brilliant Quarterly (VBQ), a multi-media newsletter all about visual tools that help you make an impact on your audience! You can subscribe here.

So, I have been working with Drew Davis for a few months now, sketching for his That’s How it All Began podcast for Sales Feed Media which tells the origin stories of some of today’s biggest brands. He is immensely fun to work with and is (no joke) one of the best storytellers I have known. In this interview for VBQ, Drew Davis walks us through his ‘Mystery Box’ storytelling framework. It’s a visual map of how to create the most compelling videos and written works that build dramatic tension over time. He creates “threats” and “payoffs” that anyone can use in their storytelling to make it a more compelling dynamic to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. I’m looking forward to trying this strategy myself. I hope you enjoy the interview!
